Structure your client engagements strategically, and in their language

You’re contracted to deliver tech solutions, but your clients also need risk matrices, governance frameworks and board-pack material.

The Lumenas end-to-end check gives a board-level governance assessment, grounded in the reality of delivering best-practice IT.

Client expectations are changing

You’re contracted for IT delivery, but your client needs support to decide their strategic direction

Clients don’t just want excellent service delivery when they outsource IT, they also expect governance and executive education in business language.

This shift is being driven from boardrooms. With greater awareness of cyber security and the drive to adopt AI both quickly and safely, executives are under increased pressure to explain their tech governance strategy.

The Lumenas end-to-end check gives that conversation structure. A one-time check produces a responsibility matrix your client can take to their board and set expectations for delivery.

Visualise tech governance for your client

We have developed a proprietary digital maturity model based on real-world experience providing tech governance advice for businesses. Our tool maps your service-delivery contract and surveys onto this model so we can identify the alignment (and any gaps) between you and your client.

Aligned means both parties agree on who owns it. Misaligned means there’s a disagreement about ownership. Gap means neither side believes they own it. Unclear means one or both sides aren’t sure.

The alignment score is the number of responsibilities where your organisation and IT Provider fully agree. In this example, only 35 of 70 are aligned — and 16 have no owner at all.

The right tool for a changing job

Lumenas provides the tools for governance and strategy

MSPs already have excellent tools for delivery. What’s been missing is a structured way to translate that delivery into the language of governance.

Your RMM, your PSA, your security stack — these tools tell you what’s happening. The Lumenas end-to-end check translates that work into what it means for your client’s governance position: who owns what, where the gaps are, and what needs to change.

A conventional cyber audit does something similar, but costs $50K, takes weeks, and produces a technical report that neither you nor your client has time to translate into business language.

The end-to-end check is built to complement your existing tooling, not replace it, and delivers exec-ready output in two weeks for $5K. Good governance doesn’t have to cost everyone a full audit every year.

How it works

From kickoff to clarity in two weeks

Your client spends around 20 minutes on their survey. Everything else is handled by Lumenas and your team.

This weekYour client signs up

Your client signs up to the Lumenas platform and uploads their MSP contract. We map that contract to our maturity model, establishing the baseline of what’s in scope — including any critical responsibilities such as cyber incident response that may be sitting outside it.
Week 1Your client completes their 20-minute survey

+

Business language, no IT knowledge required. They tell us what they believe their MSP handles and where they’re unsure. This gives us the view from their side of the relationship — which is often very different from yours.
Weeks 1–2Your team completes the technical survey

+

Scope, tooling, coverage, and SLAs: what you actually deliver. This is your opportunity to document what you do clearly and completely, without the client needing to interpret it.
Week 2We deliver the matrix — you run the meeting

+

A clear view across all eight domains: what’s aligned, what’s misaligned, and where there are gaps with no owner. Prioritised next steps in business language.

FAQs

How do we position it with the client?
As a structured strategic review you’re commissioning on their behalf. You’re the one who initiated it, which positions you as the trusted advisor who brought clarity, not the vendor who got asked difficult questions. The deliverable comes from Lumenas; the credit goes to you.
Can we run it for multiple clients?+
Yes. Talk to us about how you want to use it across your portfolio. Some MSPs run it once per client at onboarding; others use it annually as a strategic touchpoint. We can work out what makes sense for the size and shape of your client base.
Our client recently had a cyber audit. Do they still need this?+
A cyber audit tells you what the vulnerabilities are at a point in time. The end-to-end check does something different: it documents who owns what, where the client and MSP agree, and where responsibilities have been assumed rather than agreed. It’s the structured foundation for managing the relationship going forward, and something worth revisiting annually as the business evolves.
